Now THIS is what I call REALLY CUTE!

Here are some great photographs of a young wild grey squirrel, hand- reared by Debby Cantion, and called Finnegan. Debby plans to release Finnegan back into the wild, but in the meantime has been bottle-feeding him since he was brought into the house.

When Debby Cantion took in the tiny creature and began to look after him, she found herself with an unlikely nurse's aide, her very pregnant Papillon, Mademoiselle Giselle.

Finnegan was resting in a nest inside a cage just a few days before Giselle was due to give birth to her puppies.

Debby and her husband watched as the dog dragged the quirrel's cage twice to the side of her basket before she gave birth.

Debby was concerned, yet ultimately decided to allow the squirrel out of the cage, whereupon the inter-species bonding began.

Finnegan rides on top of the puppies, gradually burrowing in amongst them for warmth after feeding, and eventually working his way beneath his new litter mates.

Two days after giving birth, Giselle allowed Finnegan to nurse. Family photographs and a video show her encouraging him to suckle alongside her litter of five puppies.

Now Finnegan mostly uses a bottle, but still likes to snuggle with the puppies, rolling atop their bodies before sinking in deeply for a nice warm nap!

Squirrel and puppies get along as if it were the natural occurence in the world, Finnegan making himself completely at home with his litter-mates, nuzzling nose-to-nose for a nap after feeding.

The moral of this story is simply this:

Even though we might be different from each other in lots of ways, that should never stop us loving each other and caring for each other.
