Defining your Mission field

This would be a great sign for everyone who professes Jesus Christ to hang on the inside face of their front door. That way it would be a reminder that every time you step outside your door you are in the Mission Field. It's only a step away! There's no necessity to get on a plane and dash off to some foreign clime, for the Mission Field is everywhere about you, often even in your own home, and certainly in your own street and neighbourhood.

Maybe you might argue that you don't find the opportunities. Well, you only find things when you start to look for them! How often I've heard the cry in the morning of 'Where's my tie/clean shirt/trousers/bag/shoes/etcetera.' The response is always the same, 'Where have you looked for it/them?' The answer of course will be 'everywhere' but that usually means 'nowhere'!

Over the years I've met many folk who use the same tactic when it comes to Mission. They complain that there are no opportunities in their lives for Mission, and yet the real problem is that they simply don't look for them. Often, even when an opportunity stares them in the face, they bury their heads in the sand so that they miss it.

Yes, dear reader, our Mission Field is always to be found wherever we are to be found, all we need to do is to look, pray and act.
