THE TENDER LOVING HEART OF JESUS
“This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
John 15:12, 13 (King James Version)

Fanny Crosby, who wrote so many beautiful hymns, wrote a beautiful hymn that describes the tender loving heart of our precious Saviour. The name of this wonderful hymn is “Tell Me the Story of Jesus”. The words in this song that describe the heart of Jesus are so true. He really loves us.

“Tell of the cross where they nailed Him, Writhing in anguish and pain. Tell of the grave where they laid Him, Tell how He liveth again. Love in that story so tender, Clearer than ever I see. Stay, let me weep while you whisper, Love paid the ransom for me.”

Jesus said “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”. He not only said it, He proved it when He laid down His life for us. I don’t think any of us realize just how much our precious Saviour loves us. We know that He loves us but do we really understand how much He loves us?

If you ever doubt that Jesus loves you and that He loves you unconditionally, remember the anguish and the pain that He endured for you on that cross of horror. He was beaten beyond recognition for you. He could have come down from that cross but He stayed on the cross because He loves you so much.

Heavenly Father, may all who read this devotion feel the unconditional love that Jesus has for them in their hearts. Please help us to love one another unconditionally just as Jesus loves us. Thank You so much for Jesus. Amen.
