OUR LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS
“For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.”
Psalm 18:28 (King James Version)

There are times when there is darkness all about us and not just because it is nighttime. One of my pastors said in a sermon “We were in a cave and it was so dark in the cave we couldn’t see our hands”. I am so thankful that the Lord lightens my darkness.

Another person said “This tunnel of discouragement and despair that I am in will never end.” I think if we are honest with ourselves, a lot of us can relate to the long endless tunnels of darkness. All of us need the light of our precious Saviour.

Thank God, there is an end to the long endless tunnels of darkness. The Lord Himself will light our candles and lighten our darkness. Sometimes just when we need our flashlights the most, they stop working because the batteries go dead.

The light of Jesus will never stop working or go out. “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12 KJV).

Do you have Jesus, the light of life, in your heart or do you have the darkness of satan in your heart? You don’t have to stay in the dark tunnels of discouragement and despair. Allow Jesus to shine His light in your heart. He loves you so much.
