Joanne Lowe's Meditations

THERE IS LIBERTY IN JESUS
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:31, 32 (King James Version)

One of the definitions I found for the word “liberty” in Webster’s Dictionary is “the quality or state of being free”. When Jesus shed His precious blood for our sins on the cross, He paid the price for our sins so we can be set free from the bondage of satan.

However, we must first humble ourselves, admit that we are sinners and repent of our sins. We need to ask God to forgive us for our sins and invite Jesus into our hearts to be our personal Saviour before we are set free from the bondage of satan. Thank God that on August 14, 1980, I invited Jesus into my heart.

Franklin Hunter who ministers at a small Baptist church wrote a beautiful song “Raise His Praise”. I believe that he wrote this song from the depths of his heart. The words in this song should make us shout and praise our precious Saviour for He alone is worthy to be praised.

“Sing His praise and like a clarion, Loud and long retain the sound. For ‘tis through His great salvation, That we are no longer bound. Sin no more can have dominion, In His death He set us free; Shout this message to the nations, “Jesus Christ brings liberty.”

Jesus, You are the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Worthy is the Lamb of God! Let’s shout this message to the nations “Jesus Christ brings liberty”. Have you invited Jesus into your heart? If not, I urge you to do it now before it is too late!
