Joanne Lowe's Meditations

HE DIED FOR US
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 (King James Version)
Charles Austin Miles wrote a beautiful gospel song “I Love to Think of Jesus”. “I love to think that He has given me a part in pardon that He purchased with a broken heart; And oft my eyes are filled with tears as I recall What He has done for me, and for us all”.
Jesus, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, allowed them to beat Him beyond recognition and crucify Him on a cross of horror and excruciating pain for you and for me. There is no greater love than the unconditional and eternal love that our precious Saviour has for us. No one loves us like He loves us.
Not only were the nails pounded into His hands, they were also pounded into His heart. He suffered all that pain and anguish for you and for me. Yes, Jesus purchased the pardon for our sins with a broken heart. When we think of all that Jesus has done for us, tears of gratitude and love should fill our eyes.
Jesus, You are so precious to me and I love You with all of my heart. Thank You for dying for me and thank You for all that You have done for me. You are altogether lovely. You are the fairest of ten thousand. You are the bright and morning star and the lily of the valley. You are worthy to be praised. All hail, King Jesus!
Jesus proved His love for you when He allowed them to crucify Him. How much do you love Him and what are you doing to prove to Him that you love Him? Remember, the level of our service to Jesus depends on our level of love for Him. Do you love Him enough to get out of your comfort zone and serve Him?
