THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS
“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
 Luke 2:10,11 (King James Version)
Not only is Christ the reason we have Christmas, He is the heart of Christmas.  It is the compassionate and unconditional love for us in the heart of Jesus that gives us happiness and caused Him to die for our sins on the cross.  What a privilege to be loved by the Saviour of the world!
Christmas is different from every other holiday because it not only is the birth of Jesus, it is also the holiday of love.  Valentine’s Day is a holiday of love but only Christmas is the holiday of unconditional love.  When Jesus was born, unconditional love came into the world.
Thank God for the Christ of Christmas.  The angel said “I bring you good tidings of great joy”.  Not only do we have joy in the presence of Jesus, we have great joy!  “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Psalm 16:11).
Heavenly Father, I pray that many people will give their hearts and lives to Jesus on His birthday.  Thank You for sharing Your beloved Son with us.  Thank You for loving us and for caring about our happiness.  You are a compassionate loving Father and I love You and appreciate You.  Amen.
