Joanne Lowe's Meditations

THE GREATEST BIRTH OF ALL
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
 Isaiah 9:6 (King James Version)
Today, we celebrate the birth of Jesus.  I have read about people making a big fuss over royalty being born but none of those births compare to Jesus.  The birth of Jesus is the greatest birth of all.  When He was born, He brought unconditional love, joy, peace, happiness and compassion into the world.
Happy Birthday, Jesus!  You are worthy to be praised and adored.  You are the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  You are the lily of the valleys and the beautiful rose of Sharon.  All hail, King Jesus!  As we gather with our families and friends today, may we include Jesus in everything we do.
Don’t forget to read the birth of Jesus aloud from the Bible before you do anything this morning.  The greatest gift we can give Him today is to be kind and loving to our families and friends.  Just as we show pictures to our loved ones, let us also show His picture to them by the smiles on our faces.
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your beloved Son into the world, not only to die for us and save us but also to be our friend.  I know that it touches Your heart when people are kind and loving to Your Son.  I pray that we will do things and say things tomorrow that will make Jesus happy.  Amen.
