Is Ken Humphries guilty of a Hate Crime?

Ken Humphries, an atheist who has made atheism his religion, was given five minutes of airtime on UK's Channel 4 television channel this evening in order to share his warped views of Christianity. He did his puerile best to rubbish Jesus Christ, although it was obvious from the beginning that this was a man with an agenda. Like many atheists of his ilk, he is obviously unable to state his views in a reasonable manner, presenting them in a reasoned manner. Rather he is confrontational every time he opens his mouth. Of course Channel 4 love to peddle trash whenever the opportunity can be created, and one suspects that they view their remit as an opportunity to be as controversial as possible, revelling in the offense that such controversy courts and invariably achieves.

Humphries failed miserably to present any reasoned argument for his atheistic position that there is no God, and resorted to what amounted to name-calling in his vitriolic diatribe against Jesus, as he attempted to rubbish everything that Jesus said.

I accuse Ken Humphries of a religiously-motivated hate crime, and believe that the police authorities responsible for dealing with such matters should bring him to justice for it. His choice of rhetoric is offensive to all Christians, and I for one am bitterly offended by what he has said. He is entitled to thin k whatever he wants, and to discuss his thoughts in a rational manner with others. However, that does not include appearing in a mini-tv programme to spout his religious hatred to all and sundry.

Of course, not only is this puerile hogwash an offence against Christians, although clearly these were his targets, it is also an offence against those of other religions who accept Jesus as a prophet even though they fail to acknowledge that He was the Son of God.

I would suggest that had he dared to speak against the Prophet Muhammad in a similar manner then he would have been visited by the police by now and charged with a religiously-motivated hate crime. Let's hope that the authorities act out the letter of the Law, although somehow I doubt that they will, for religious persecution of Christians is rife in this nation nowadays.
