Joanne Lowe's Meditations

HOW CAN WE BE QUIET
“And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.  But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.  For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”
 Acts 4:18-20 (King James Version)
When your pastor says it is testimony time and asks people to stand up and give testimonies, do you stay in your seat and hope that your pastor doesn’t call you to give your testimony?  How can we be quiet after all Jesus has done for us?  We should be so anxious to testify that we all stand up at the same time.
It is time for those of us who claim to be Christians to speak up and let everyone know the wonderful things Jesus has done for us.  We don’t have any trouble bragging on our children.  How much more we should brag on Jesus.  We have a Saviour who loves us so much He died for us.  Are you bragging on Jesus?
Heavenly Father, we confess that we have sinned and hurt You by not giving our testimonies and by not telling everyone we see about our great and wonderful Saviour.  We’re sorry.  We ask You to please have mercy on us and forgive us.  Please help us to start bragging on Jesus.  Amen.
