Beautiful Wales ... The ideal holiday destination

My favourite holiday destination of all has to be when I return to Wales in answer to the call of hiraeth. There is so much natural beauty in the Principality that it could easily overwhelm you. Certainly, when you look around and discover new aspects of familiar mountains and valleys, or perhaps see them for the first time, you begin to understand why Wales has produced such fine writers, artists and composers. It's also easy to understand the sense of faith that manages to exist still today, when you see the wonder of God's creation all about you.
Whichever season you visit, you are sure of beautiful sights to feast your eyes on, and the snows of winter create some spectacularly wonderful sights.
Of course, Wales is much more than mountains and valleys, and you will discover some fabulous beaches that rival the best beaches to be found anywhere.
It's great to take a break from driving when you are high up on a mountain road, and looking down into the valley below you will be able to see small villages that nestle naturally amongst the trees.
Wales is also a land of castles, and there are many fine examples to tempt the visitor, ones like Caerphilly Castle in the photo above.
The country is renowned for the many great holiday cottages to choose from, where you can enjoy your break in peace, comfort and beauty. Cottages just like the fabulous beach cottage in the above picture.
Amongst the beautiful places to visit are gardens like the one above, Caehir Gardens, where you can soak in the mixture of natural and man-made beauty.
To end this brief glimpse of a beautiful land, here's a shot of snow-covered mountains in North Wales.

  1. Snowdonia is also the only place is the UK where you can find wild horses, so as well as these gorgeous views from Snowdon, so there is also potential for some amazing wildlife photography. With the 5* cottages in Snowdonia, because people should be flocking there. Your photos are really beautiful. Nice work!
