Call for a National Day of Repentance and Prayer in the Nation

Have you spoken to your Pastor/Vicar/Priest/Minister yet about calling for a National Day of Repentance and Prayer? Have you written to the Prime Minister and your Member of Parliament? Have you written to H. M. The Queen?

We really need this as a Nation if we are to see our land healed of all that is so dreadfully wrong with it. There is a great shaking going on in the world, the likes of which most have never experienced in their lifetimes. There are wars and rumours of wars, there are natural disasters. Despotic regimes are being deposed.

Being a Christian carries so much responsibility with it. We are not called to play a passive role but to be like Christ. It's so easy to think of Christ in terms of the 'Gentle Jesus' whom we spoke of in our childhood prayers, but we need to think of Him when He cleansed the Temple. Our Nation needs cleansing, as do others around the world, and it falls upon every Christian to act in a united way.

The time for sitting on the fence, assuming that someone else is busy doing what is necessary is long past. It is us who must act, and act now. We need much prayer and fasting as we seek the Lord and plead with Him for our Nation. If we pray for a National Day of Repentance and Prayer, believing that God both hears and answers the prayers of His people, and if we start with our own prayers of repentance then change will come.

From a few acorns, carefully planted, a mighty forest can grow. Our God can do all things. Nothing is impossible for Him, so why not act today!
