Joanne Lowe's Meditations

HAVE YOU ENCOURAGED JESUS
"So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved."
Isaiah 41:7 (King James Version)
This is one of my favourite Scripture verses in the Bible.  We are to encourage one another but we should also encourage Jesus.  Are we encouraging Him?  How do we encourage Him?  The greatest way to encourage Him is to invite Him into our heart to be our personal Saviour.
We can encourage Him by the loving words we say to one another and the kind things we do for each other.  We can also encourage Him by forgiving those who have hurt us.  We need to remember that no one is perfect.  There was only one perfect person who ever lived or ever will live and His name is Jesus.
All of us fail Jesus and hurt people.  If we expect people to forgive us when we hurt them, we had better be willing to forgive the ones who hurt us.  How dare we go to a Holy God and ask Him to forgive us if we refuse to forgive the ones who hurt us.  There are times when our rotten attitudes stink in His nostrils.
Did you do something kind for someone or say an encouraging word to someone today?  "And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me" (Matthew 25:40).  Have you encouraged Jesus today?
Heavenly Father, thank You for sharing Jesus with us.  Please help us to be an encouragement to Jesus every day by the kind words we say and our loving actions to one another.  Amen.
Joanne Lowe
