Joanne Lowe's Meditations

GOD'S FAVORITE COLOUR
"Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours."
Genesis 37:3 (King James Version)
If someone asks you what God's favourite color is, what would you say? God's favorite color is red for the atoning blood of Jesus.  Joseph's dad made him a coat of many colours.  God made us a coat but it only has one colour.  It is a red coat that is stained with the blood that Jesus shed for us on the cross.
God does not play favourites with His children.  He loves all of His children with the same compassionate and unconditional love.  Parents, please love and treat all of your children the same way.  When you play favourites with your children, it causes jealousy and hatred between the children.
Pastor Robert Lowery wrote a beautiful hymn that always brings tears of gratitude and happiness to my eyes "Nothing but the Blood".  "What can wash away my sin?  Nothing but the blood of Jesus; What can make me whole again?  Nothing but the blood of Jesus".  Thank God for the redeeming blood of Jesus!
It is only through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross that we can be saved.  There is nothing that we can do to earn our salvation.  Our salvation is free to us but it cost Jesus everything, His very life.  It is the most expensive gift ever given.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8,9).  Thank You, Heavenly Father, for giving us a coat of red through the shed blood of Your Son.  Jesus, thank You for Your blood that cleanses us from our sins.
