Joanne Lowe's Meditations

HIS UNENDING GRACE
"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus."
Ephesians 2:4-7 (King James Version)
One of the definitions in Webster's Dictionary for the word "grace" is "unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification".  God loves us so much that He sent Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins.  What an amazing love He has for you and for me!
Even when we fail God and hurt Him, He forgives us and it's all because Jesus allowed them to torture Him and crucify Him for our sins.  No one loves us like God and Jesus love us.  The love they have for us is a love beyond compare.  Thank God for His unconditional love and unending grace.
People try to work their way into Heaven.  They also give their money to charities in the hopes that it will buy their way into Heaven.  We can't work our way into Heaven and we can't buy our way into Heaven.  It is only through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross that we can be saved and go to Heaven.
We read in the Bible.  "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8,9).  Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us and thank You for Jesus. Thank You, Jesus, for loving us so much that You died for us.  Amen.
