Joanne Lowe's Meditations

HE SEES OUR TEARS
“And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.”
John 19:17,18 (King James Version)
I think that there are times when all of us have heartaches and heavy burdens in our life and the tears start to fall.  Jesus sees our tears and He is moved with compassion for us.  It breaks His heart when we are sad and He weeps with us.  He longs to lift our burdens.
John M. Moore wrote the hymn “Burdens are Lifted at Calvary”.  “Troubled soul, the Savior can see, Ev’ry heartache and tear.  Burdens are lifted at Calvary, Jesus is very near.”  Sometimes we try to hide our tears but Jesus sees them and He wants to dry them with kisses of love.  O how He loves us!
The next time your heart is breaking and the tears start to flow instead of trying to hide your tears, run into the arms of Jesus and allow Him to comfort and encourage you.  He will hold you close to His loving heart until the pain goes away.  You are very precious to Him.
Heavenly Father, how we thank You and praise You for our precious Saviour.  Thank You for loving us so much that You sent Him to die for our sins and to lift our burdens.  Jesus, thank You for dying for me and for the many times You have dried my tears.  I love You so much, dear Saviour.  Amen.
