Poem: "Realisation"

This poem was first published in my book Flight of a Bee, published by Gazebo Books (Pty) in Rhodesia, 1978.

Realisation
In the morning
I look at you
as you lay
sleeping;
I see the 
mark of sleep
around your eyes,
the tangled jungle
of your hair.
I smell
the stale odours
of shared sleep,
then I knew
how much
I really
love you
