Joanne Lowe's Meditations

OUR FAITHFUL FRIEND
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
Hebrews 13:5 (King James Version)
We have a new year, a year in which we can lift our voices in praise to our precious Saviour.  We can make this a happy new year for Jesus if we will serve Him with all of our hearts.  My heart is filled to overflowing with love for Him for all He has done for me this past year.
Jesus is not only our Saviour; He is also our faithful friend.  He said “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”.  On August 14, 1980, when I gave my heart to Jesus and invited Him into my heart to be my personal Saviour, He told me that He would never leave me, not even for a minute and He hasn’t left me.
O that you and I would be as faithful to Him as He is to us.  Let’s make this a happy new year for Jesus by loving one another unconditionally just as He loves us.  He came into the world to bring unconditional love and He wants us to love each other the way He loves us.
Sometimes we forget that loving one another unconditionally is not an option, it is a commandment. “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another” (John 13:34).  Can we honestly say that we always love one another unconditionally?
Heavenly Father, I pray that Your heart will be made to rejoice and that You will have a Happy New Year as many people give their hearts and lives to Jesus.  I know that it brings tears of joy to You when we are kind and loving to Your beloved Son.  Amen.
