JESUS GIVES THE VICTORY
“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Eliza Edmunds Hewitt wrote one of my favorite hymns “Victory in Jesus”. I love these words. “Soldiers of King Jesus, raise the shout again, Victory in Jesus, victory! Marching to the music of the glad refrain, Victory in Jesus evermore.” Thank God for Jesus who gives us the victory! No matter how many vicious poisonous darts of discouragement and heartaches Satan hurls at us, Jesus will always bring us through every valley victoriously. Our precious Saviour will pick us up and carry us through every valley and set us once again on the mountain top of happiness.
If Jesus doesn’t come back for us or God doesn’t call me home, next month on January 24, I will have the privilege of serving Jesus full time for six years. This is the reason why I have been so sick these last two weeks and why Satan has been trying to discourage me. It makes Satan angry when we serve Jesus.
Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us the victory. I pray for every person who reads this devotion. Please encourage their hearts. I pray that they will feel Your love for them as they have never felt it before. Hold them in Your loving arms and wipe their tears away with Your tender kisses. Amen.
