Joanne Lowe's Meditations

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN
"After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  Amen."
Matthew 6:9-13 (King James Version)
Many times we don't forgive those who hurt us yet we expect God to forgive us when we hurt Him and other people.  It is no wonder at all that our prayers are not always answered the way we want them answered.  What would happen if we always forgave everyone who hurt us?
Not only would we make God happy we would also have a lot more peace and happiness in our life.  How dare you and I go to a Holy God and ask Him to forgive us for things when we are not willing to forgive those who have hurt us.  We Christians are sometimes a very arrogant people.
Heavenly Father, we confess that we sin at times when we refuse to forgive those who hurt us.  I pray that You would search our hearts and if there is anything that hurts and displeases You, I ask that You would please remove it from our hearts.  I love You, dear Father.  Amen.
