"Abinger Road" --- New CD from Hayley Oliver & the Hayley Oliver Band

Like most folk, I love getting presents, especially when the present arrives unexpectedly!
This morning I received a fabulous present from my good friend Hayley Oliver, and I'm enjoying listening to it as I write this post. The gift that the mailman brought this morning was the new CD from Hayley Oliver & the Hayley Oliver Band, "Abinger Road" which, just like previous releases from both Hayley and the band, demonstrates just how Country Music should sound. I LOVE it!

You can buy it for yourself by following this link.

Here's a taste of what Hayley Oliver & the Band sound like from a previous CD:

The Hayley Oliver Band Radio Interview 16 Ton Studios Nashville 2010

Regular readers to this Blog will know by now that I am a great fan of the UK Queen of Country Music, Hayley Oliver who, together with the award-winning Hayley Oliver Band, make some of the greatest Country sounds on the UK music scene. Not only are they great Country Music folk but they are also very nice people too. Give yourselves a treat as you look at this video of their interview by Robert Reynolds on the 'Maverick on Music Row Radio Show' in Nashville.

The Hayley Oliver Band sing 'Tell Me Why'

Yesterday I mentioned that my friend Hayley Oliver had sent me 2 CDs as a gift, and I posted details of the first of them, Something to Remember, which features Hayley Oliver, Rob Smith and Richard Anderson. Today I'm playing the second CD, The Hayley Oliver Band, Naturally', which features Hayley singing some good old Country favourites along with her Band. The band is made up of Lee Ellis on Lead Guitar & additional Vocals; Nigel Nesbitt - Bass Guitar/Vocals; Wayne Lee - Keyboard/Vocals; Scott Gladman on Rhythm Guitars and Julian McLaren on Drums, and what a fabulous sound they make together!

It's difficult for me to pick out a favourite from amongst the 14 tracks on this CD because they are all great, but I particularly enjoyed the opening track, 98.6 Degrees and Falling, Sweet Dreams and I'm a Little Bluer Than That. The truth is that they are all great tracks!

This would be a great CD to add  to your own collection. You can buy it on iTunes by clicking here.  Have a look and listen with this Youtube video.

Enjoy this International Concert

I thought that I would treat you all to an International Concert today, dear readers, so sit back, press the buttons, do the clicks, and enjoy this group of videos from amongst my Facebook friends.
Here's a treat to start the Concert off. It's one of my Facebook friends, Annette Griffin, singing The Heart that Beats in Ireland, a great Irish song from a talented Irish singer.

Once you have finished applauding Annette, here's another treat. The talented young singer Siobhan Owen, currently living in Australia, singing If I Were a Blackbird.

Another fabulous singer from Australia. Young and talented, Grace Bawden is destined for International stardom without doubt. There is a great deal of interest in her globally, and she is one of my favourite singers. Sit back and relax as Grace sings Colours.

UK singer, Jennifer Douglas, sings the beautiful song If Only I Had Wings written by that hit-making duo Greg Scheer and Colin Gordon-Farleigh

Another talented singer, this time from Wales. Samantha Link sings the classic song, I Dreamed a Dream. Sit back and enjoy as you let the song wash over you!

I couldn't possibly have a concert without including the singer whom I think of as 'The Queen of UK Country', the amazing Hayley Oliver. Here she sings a duet with her friend from the USA, Danna Moore. Enjoy them as they sing My Friend Across the Sea.

Well, there it is! A musical treat for you today which I hope you have enjoyed.

The Hayley Oliver Band Radio Interview 16 Ton Studios Nashville 2010

Today's theme is 'Friendship' and regular readers of this Blog will know by now that I consider The UK's Queen of Country, Hayley Oliver, to be one of my all-time favourite country singers. So what's the connection between Hayley Oliver and Friendship? That's easy . . . I count it both a privilege and a blessing to count Hayley amongst my friends.
The video above is about their interview at 16 Ton Studios when the Hayley and her Band were in Nashville late last year, and the video below is just another great song sung by this fabulous artist. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and if this is the first time that you have heard Hayley, that you will become a true fan.

The Hayley Oliver Band in Nashville

The Hayley Oliver Band Nashville Chronicals

Check out this clip of my favourite UK Country singer, Hayley Oliver who, together with her band, was in Nashville recently to play a gig.

Congratulations to all of them!

I thought, why give you just one clip when I can give you two! So below is a clip of Hayley and Danna, (Hayley's friend from across the water),singing San Antone Rose.

The Hayley Oliver Band will be playing at 'The Loveless Cafe'

The Hayley Oliver Band will be playing at 'The Loveless Cafe' in Nashville tomorrow, 9th November, at the invitation of WSM Radio and CMR Nashville, so if you get the chance to get along there to hear the UK's Queen of Country Music, give yourself a treat and go and listen to the Band, and especially Hayley.

I hope that this will be one of the turning points in Hayley's career that gets her the global recognition that her talent warrants.

Just to give you another taste of Hayley's and her band's great talent, have a listen to her singing
the song first made famous by the incredible Patsy Cline. Not surprisingly, Hayley manages to make this song her own.

The Hayley Oliver Band- I'm A Little Bluer Than That

Regular readers to this Blog will no doubt be familiar that I rate the Hayley Oliver Band right up there alongside the top Country groups. Hayley Oliver I rate alongside the greatest Country singers such as Tammy Wynette and Dolly Parton, and am never afraid to stick my neck out and label her the UK Queen of Country. I have no doubt that both she and the band will make it in a very big way before too long.

Hot news about the band is that they will be in Nashville, Tennessee from this Saturday (6th November) until the 12th, having been invited to play at the 'Loveless Cafe' on November 9th, as part of an international country show hosted by WSM Radio and CMR Nashville. So if you live anywhere within travelling distance of the 'Loveless Cafe' why not go along and hear the Band for yourself. One thing I guarantee --- you won't be sorry!!!

Earlier this year The Hayley Oliver Band slid into the number 1 position on the Hotdisc charts to make it three chart toppers out of three releases for the band, who have now become the most successful British act ever to appear on Hotdisc. No other UK act has managed three number ones in the main Top 40.

It's an incredible achievement for the blind singer who has only really been on the scene for just over a year with her band.

Hayley Oliver Band keep soaring higher!

The Hayley Oliver Band were handed two Awards at the recent British Country Music Awards ceremony held at Lakeside.

The video below shows  the band playing shortly before they received their TWO AWARDS, The Horizon Award for Best New Band, and the Hotdisc Track of the Year, for I'm A Little Bluer Than That.

I keep on saying in this Blog about just how great Hayley Oliver and her Band are. These awards just help to reinforce that viewpoint!  Hayley is most definitely the 'Queen of the UK Country Music Scene!'

Hayley Oliver Band going to appear at Nashville!

From time to time I post information about one of my all-time favourite country singers, Hayley Oliver, otherwise known as the UK's Queen of Country'. What an amazing talent this singer has! I know that she's destined to go a long way in the business and anything I can do to help her along is but a pleasure.

I was chatting to Hayley last night, each of us catching up on the latest news about the musical part of our lives, and she gave me the great news that The Hayley Oliver Band have been booked to play at the 'Loveless' cafe in Nashville, Tennessee, on November 9th, as part of an international country show hosted by WSM Radio and CMR Nashville, and they will be staying out there from the 6th to the 12th.

Wow, Nashville! I wish I could be there for the concert, but I guess that I'll just have to make do with hearing about it afterwards. However, dear reader, if you live near enough to get there on the night I can recommend you to go and listen to the Hayley Oliver Band and the other great singers booked for the show.

Hayley Oliver sings with Danna Moore

Here's a video of my friend Hayley Oliver singing a duet with US singer, Danna Moore. The song is Friend Across the Sea, and is beautifully sung by these well-matched voices as they harmonise together in a way that reaches right down into your soul. This is one of those songs that you can listen to over and over again, enjoying it anew every time that you hear it.

What a great talent Hayley has. Whilst I know that she has many fans, I hope that she gets the full international recognition that she so richly deserves before much longer.
