Poem for Today : 'Mountain Rains'

Mountain Rains
 Cascading rivulets, turning to torrents
in their downward flight, changing
from cloth of lace into a candy-floss of foam.
White arrows, resplendent on the mountain,
forever falling, forging onward to the lakes;
swollen now with fast increasing rain.
The mountain host disappears above the cloud,
perhaps to reach forever to the sun
awaiting the watered rays that filter through,
forbidding, once again, the solar tears.
When time has once more passed an hour
the mountain top appears, still white-tipped,
easing through in regal splendour,
allowing torrents to turn again to lace.
