Joanne Lowe's Meditations

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
John 15:13 (King James Version)
Kurt Kaiser wrote a beautiful hymn "Oh How He Loves You and Me".  It was amazing love that flowed from the heart of Jesus when He died on the cross for our sins.  The words in this beautiful hymn touch my heart and fill it with love and gratitude for our precious Saviour.
"Jesus to Calv'ry did go, His love for mankind to show.  What He did there brought hope from despair.  Oh, how He loves you, Oh, how He loves me, Oh, how He loves you and me."  If we ever begin to realize just how much Jesus loves us, we will have a lot more happiness and excitement in our life.
Have you ever stopped to think about it?  I mean, really dwell on it.  The King of Kings and Lord of Lords loves us so much that He willingly walked that long and lonely road to Calvary to die for our sins.  He also allowed them to torture Him and beat Him beyond recognition.  "Oh, how He loves you and me."
Jesus loves us so much that He died for us.  How much do we love Him and what are we doing to prove to Him how much we love Him?  Remember, the level of our service to Him depends on our level of love for Him.  Are we willing to die for Him?  Every Christian needs to answer this question.
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much that You sent Your beloved Son to die for our sins.  Dear Jesus, You are so precious.  Thank You for dying for us and paying the debt for our sins that we could never have paid.  I love You so much and I appreciate all that You have done for me.
