Islamic Fanaticism: When will we act?

Yesterday, once again, the ugly face of Islamic fanaticism showed its face as demonstrators paraded with placards and shouted their anti-British slogans outside the court where the Islamic fanatic, Roshonara Choudhury was sentenced to life imprisonment for the attempted murder of Member of Parliament, Stephen Timms. Inside the courtroom more fanatics harangued the Judge, Mr Justice Cooke, from the public gallery.

Placards stating that 'Islam will rule the world' amongst others, were being displayed. The warped thinking of the fanatics who hold such views is assisted by the attitudes of the Establishment who repeatedly appear to be afraid of acting against them for fear of offending the Muslim Community, despite the fact that the moderate Muslim Community repeatedly condemns the actions of all Islamic Fundamentalists.

We are told that to dare to speak out against them is a so-called 'hate crime', although it would appear, according to the deplorable lack of action against such demonstrators, that 'hate crime' can only be perpetrated against and not by them.

As a child, in a world still reeling from the effects of the Second World War in which another bunch of crazed fanatics attempted to dominate Europe, many of the comics that were available told stories of power-crazed despots whose aim was world-domination. Later, as television became more common-place, we has programmes like 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' which had the same theme of world domination. Over the past few years we have the James bond movies which usually seem to feature a megalomaniac with aspirations of dominating the whole world.

These then are the stories that have graced the pages of our story-books and comics, but the dangers of aspiring world domination fanatics is a grave reality in the real world today. There can be no doubt that the Islamic fanatics who practise and promote global Islamic domination are the most dangerous individuals in the world today. Some time ago I published an article which pointed out that whilst it was completely wrong in every sense to claim that every Muslim was a terrorist, nevertheless, almost every terrorist was a Muslim.

If the Western world does not wake up and act against these fanatics, swiftly and surely, then their claims to dominate the world will become the nightmare of reality. Without question, wherever the ugly aspect of Islamic fanaticism is seen to rear its head then it needs to be dealt with in the harshest manner possible.

Here in the United Kingdom there are so many instances reported in the Media of hate-filled Islamists who air their rant in public and urge others to seek martyrdom in the cause of Islamic world domination, and yet are able to do so only because they have been granted immigrant status or asylum, and live here in comparative safety at the expense of the British taxpayer, courtesy of the Benefits System.

Surely one prime requirement for any person seeking domicile in the UK should be that they can offer proof of their ability to support themselves and their families, just as it is a requirement in so many other countries. Many of the protesters, in a different political climate to the nambi-pambi one in which we live, would be charged with treason against the State and, if found guilty of the charges, punished accordingly.

Unfortunately, one of the reasons that the situation in which we find ourselves gathers power, is because of the poor practise and demonstration of the Christian faith in the lives of the millions who lay claim to it.

It is time for change. It is time to challenge the State over laws that have been passed that are not enacted upon and laws that have been passed that afford, in their practise, a measure of protection which allows fanaticism to continue unabated.

  • Speak to your MP
  • Write to your MP
  • Complain to the Prime Minister
Of course, the above will all help, but there is much more that can be done by Christians who are prepared to look at their own lives, seek out what is unhealthy and unwholesome, repent before God of such things and turn to God in prayer to find the solution. If we are to be rid of the scourge of Islamic Fundamentalism then one thing is certain, the solution will be God-made and not man-made, and you will most likely find it on your knees. More than anything, it is time that Christians everywhere united to face this enemy, calling on the power of God through prayer to bring about a defeat of this evil.
