Waiting for You

I stand
as agreed
Beneath
the friendly clock
on Platform Two.
Waiting,
dreaming,
waiting for you;
the soft ticking
of the clock
reminding me
at seven
you arrive.
At eight o’clock
I stand
Cursing
that sullen sound,
Questioning
where you went —
till when—
with whom.
