One of the best things about writing a Book Review column for a magazine is that you get sent some great books to read through and write about. For my next column in The Voice Christian News & Views I'm writing a review about the book pictured above, Max on Life, written by Max Lucado, an author who is on the best-seller listings of the NYT.
The subtitle of the book is 'Answers and Inspiration for Today's Questions', and each question is the type that pastors might get asked on a regular basis. Max Lucado answers the questions in a no-nonsense manner, supporting his answers with quotations from Scripture, and the result is a book that's great to dip into whenever you need inspiration or confirmation.
He deals with the subjects that affect each of us; hope, hurt and help, as well as those that get raised about dealing with sex and romance, work and money, and much more beside.
Bed-time reading? Certainly, but also a book that is good to have handy so that you can dip into it whenever you wish and wherever you are. This book comes highly recommended by me, that's for sure!
Published by Thomas Nelson, Max on Life is due for release in May this year. To pre-order it you need to know that it's in Jacketed Hardcover format, priced at US$24.99, and the ISBN number is 978-0-8499-4812-1
