Poem for Today

Words

Long and short

Fat and thin,

But still the same

Words

Bringing news;

Sometimes good,

Sometimes bad,

But still only

Words,

Carrying their

Messages

Filled with hope

Or despair;

This profusion of

Words

That fall

From your lips,

To cover

     The inner depths

     Of my

                             Understanding
