Alan Watson: Runcorn's answer to Frank Sinatra

Local Runcorn singer Alan Watson is as popular now as he has always been, and despite the advancing years his voice still gives a great deal of pleasure to those fortunate enough to hear him sing. A new CD is in the pipeline, for release early in 2011, with Alan singing songs written by the songwriting partnership of Runcorn-based Colin Gordon-Farleigh and Michigan (USA)-based Greg Scheer. The duo have been responsible for a large number of songs and hymns over the last four years, several of which have appeared in the New Christian Music charts. Earlier in the year If Only I Had Wings, recorded by Manchester songbird Jennifer Douglas, reached number three in the NCM UK Charts and When I'm With You, sung by Susan Marrsreached number two in September in the same charts. If Only I Had Wings was released recently by the young Australian singing sensation, Grace Bawden, one of the six finalists in the 2008 Australia's Got Talent TV show.

Alan recorded Songs of Worship, featuring four of Colin Gordon-Farleigh's Worship songs, a couple of years ago, and it continues to be a popular CD. This was followed up by a remastered selection of songs featuring Alan and his wife, Blodwin, titled The Two of Us. This CD covers a wide range of songs and is always a popular addition to people's collection of easy-listening music.
You can purchase these CDs online at the Sheer Joy Music shop or from CD Baby and other leading digital download sites.
