Joanne Lowe's Meditations

THE TRUMPET WILL SOUND
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 (King James Version)
One glorious day, the trumpet will sound and our precious Saviour will descend from heaven with the loudest and the most triumphant shout the world has ever heard and we will be with Him forever! O how I long for that day when I shall have the privilege of seeing my Saviour.
Pastor John Wilbur Chapman wrote a beautiful hymn about that day.  The name of the hymn is “One Day”.  “One day the trumpet will sound for His coming, One day the skies with His glories will shine; Wonderful day, my beloved ones bringing; Glorious Saviour, this Jesus is mine!”
Can you say “this Jesus is mine”?  Has there ever been a time when you humbled yourself and admitted you are a sinner?  Did you repent of your sins and ask God to forgive you?  Have you opened the door of your heart and invited the Christ of Calvary into your heart to be your personal Saviour?
If not, I urge you, I plead with you to give your heart and life to Jesus before it is too late!  You may not have tomorrow or even another hour to live.  Jesus was crucified on a cross of horror for you.  He suffered excruciating pain for you.  He was beaten beyond recognition for you.  This is how much He loves you.
