A Hymn for Christmas: 'There's a Story (2)'

There’s a Story (2) 9797
TUNE: Brecon
There’s a story that’s told to children,
That speaks of Jesus above,
That tells how they gathered around Him,
To hear of the Saviour’s birth.
It tells how He came down from heaven,
To live for a while on earth;
Of the star, and the hay-filled manger,
That was chosen for His birth.
The angel appeared to the shepherds,
Who heard all he had to say,
Then followed the star, shining brightly,
And went to where Jesus lay.
They worshipped Him there in that stable,
That perfect child, born of love;
They praised Him and knelt to His glory,
Worshipping God up above.
All children will listen in wonder
At the words which they are told;
And in turn discover the Saviour,
The same today as of old.
