Joanne Lowe's Meditations

DON’T PUT IT AWAY
“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:  And be ye kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
 Ephesians 4:31,32 (King James Version)
Someone said “Christmas is over.  Now I can put away the tree, the ornaments and all the decorations until next year”. When you put the Christmas decorations away until next year, don’t forget to keep the love you gave to your families at Christmas in your heart.  Don’t put it away until next year.
We must give the unconditional love that Jesus brought into the world to our families, to our friends and to all those we meet every day of our lives.  Above all, we should be kind and tender-hearted and forgive each other just as God for Christ’s sake forgives us.
How dare you and I go to a Holy God and ask Him to forgive us if we refuse to forgive those who hurt us.  May God have mercy on us and forgive us.  Sometimes Christians are a very arrogant people.  Don’t just tell people you forgive them, that is not real forgiveness.  You must forgive them from your heart.
Have you put away the unconditional love of Jesus until next year?  If so, ask God to forgive you and help you to keep the unconditional love of Jesus in your heart all the time so that others will know that He loves them just as He loves you.  Again, don’t put the love of Jesus away until next year.
