I found this definition of atheism on the Urban Dictionary website:
'The belief that there was nothing and nothing happened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything then a bunch of everything magically rearranged for no reason what so ever into self-replicating tiny bits which then turned into dinosaurs!'
That seems to be a fairly rational explanation. It certainly explains the theory that all life evolved following a Big Bang. This was an explosion of something which didn't exist before it exploded and which existed after the non-existent matter exploded. It was all the result of someone who didn't exist using the smoke and mirror technique, so we can understand that it was not magic but that it just appeared that way.
Oh dear! I seem to be digging a deeper and deeper hole, so perhaps I'd better stop!
