Joanne Lowe's Meditations

NOT JUST AMAZING
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:16 (King James Version)
John Newton wrote one of my favorite hymns "Amazing Grace".  I love these words.  "Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me!  I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see."  However, it is not just amazing grace that saves us; it is also a love beyond compare.
It is a Father and Son team that gives us this loving and amazing grace.  God loves us so much that He sent His beloved Son to die for us.  Jesus loves us so much that He allowed them to crucify Him for our sins.  What love and what grace flows from the hearts of our Heavenly Father and Jesus for us!
It is more than just an amazing grace and love we are privileged to have, it is also a marvelous grace.  Julia Harriette Johnston who was a Sunday school teacher wrote a beautiful hymn about this marvelous grace "Grace Greater than Our Sin".  Thank God for the blood of Jesus that cleanses us from our sins.
"Marvelous grace of our loving Lord, Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!  Yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured, There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled."  That precious blood was spilled so that we may be saved and be assured of a home in Heaven with Jesus.  What a loving Saviour we have!
Jesus died and shed His blood for you.  What have you done for Him?  Have you surrendered your life to Him in full time service?  You can be a missionary for Him right where you live, in your home, in your neighborhood and in your community.
