Côr Meibion Pontypridd - Pontypridd Male Voice Choir

As regular readers of this Blog will know, music, and especially singing, are both matters which I feel very passionate about, and without them my life would be far poorer. I love the sound of Male Voice Choirs, especially --- (and here I admit my bias!) --- Welsh Male Voice Choirs. I recently became a Facebook friend of the Pontypridd Male Voice Choir, Côr Meibion Pontypridd, and thought that I would share a few details about them with you, dear readers.
Formed in 1949, Côr Meibion Pontypridd has continued to provide an opportunity for eager male choristers to experience the unique atmosphere of strong Welsh Singing established by our forefathers in the last century, both Nationally and Internationally. They have earned an impressive pedigree which includes the following:
  • Winners of both the HTV Male Choral Competition
  • Winners of The Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales.
  • Members of the National Association of Choirs
  • Members of the Welsh Association of Male Choirs
  • Member of the Welsh Amateur Music Federation
The choir has performed extensively overseas in countries such as USA, Ireland, Poland and Germany, and regularly gives concerts in  their South Wales home-town of Pontypridd and in the National Eisteddfod. If you get the chance, make sure you get to hear them sing!
